online event – Friday 11th June 2021
1:00pm – 2:30pm CEST (12:00pm – 1:30pm BST)
Amateo is pleased to invite you to attend an inspirational event that will share innovative thinking and practice from colleagues working in participatory arts in the European cultural sector!
Many of us feel that during the pandemic the opportunity for active participation in culture is more important than ever. Our speakers and performers will help inspire and celebrate this work – and look to the future. As part of our campaign to raise the profile of the work of our network we are inviting the culture ministers from European countries to join us and find out more about the impact and importance of this work. We know that they are busy people and this is an ambitious request, but every great movement starts somewhere!
Programme:
1:00pm | Introductions and Welcome
1:10pm | Tania Banotti – Director of Creative Ireland

Tania Banotti holds a Master’s in film in television from Dublin City University and studied politics and economics in Trinity College Dublin. She is a founder and former Chief Executive of Screen Producers Ireland (SPI). She has also worked for the National Campaign for the Arts (NCFA).
In June 2018, Tania Banotti was appointed as the Director of Creative Ireland, the Irish Government’s five-year plan to place the creative arts at the heart of communities throughout Ireland. The vision and intent of the Creative Ireland Programme is to promote collaboration between different levels of government and engagement with the broad cultural sector, creative practitioners, creative industries and the public. There is a need to encourage dialogue on how the Cultural and Creative sectors can engage the Irish public on climate change and in undertaking climate action, and to make themselves an essential part of the climate narrative.
