SUMMARY:Amateur Culture Festival
DESCRIPTION:The largest promotional project of the Public Fund of the Republic of Slovenia for Cultural Activities (JSKD) and the entire field of amateur culture in Slovenia is entering a new development phase in 2026. \nThe previous Amateur Culture Weeks are being transformed into the Amateur Culture Festival\, which will be presented with a new identity in 2026 – both in terms of the name and the renewed overall graphic image\, designed by Nina Šturm. \nThe 2026 Amateur Culture Festival will take place between May 15 and June 15. It will connect 700 events across Slovenia into a single national pulse – from singing rehearsals\, theater performances and folklore meetings to exhibitions\, literary evenings and intergenerational workshops. The opening of the Festival will take place on May 17\, 2026 at 6 pm at Štanjel Castle as part of the national meeting Sosed tvojega breg\, which will feature authors who write in their native language. This year\, the festival proves that culture lives everywhere\, and that amateur culture is the backbone of local communities in both cities and the countryside\, in halls and outdoors.
